This can prove stressful, time consuming and costly in terms of professional fees.

It is for this reason that the Partners of Marriott Gibbs have set up taxBEATER. Membership of its indemnity scheme will provide clients with accountancy support free of charge should their affairs be investigated by the authorities whilst in the scheme. taxBEATER provides support in the following circumstances:-

	Inland Revenue in-depth investigations carried out by the local tax office.
	Customs & Excise investigations following routine control visits.
	Inland Revenue PAYE audits regarding the operation of PAYE and NIC.

taxBEATER is provided by Marriott Gibbs on an annual subscription basis for a minimum period of one year at a value of £300. Support will be provided in respect of accountancy fees levied by Marriott Gibbs during the period covered by the subscription.

The scheme has been formulated to protect the genuine taxpayer who may become the subject of an investigation. Clients must therefore do everything in their power to ensure that they do not prompt being investigated by their own actions. We therefore ask you to ensure that:-

	all returns and accounts are submitted on time;
	all notifications regarding matters such as the requirement to register for VAT, new sources of income, capital disposals and overdrawn directors loan accounts are made within the required time limits;
	all returns and accounts are complete and accurate;
	all books and records are maintained and preserved for the statutory time periods.
